In this collection of risograph-printed comics made between 2013 and 2016, Alyssa Berg delivers understated yet poignant, foggy narratives of longing, forgetting, and finding. Often presented in four panels, the comics appear in bright colors whose lines often transgress and transcend their panels’ edges. Berg includes text sparingly, choosing words carefully that both affect and are affected by their dreamy backdrops. Indeed, many of the illustrations surround dreams and the ways they interact with lived reality. The book itself reads like a dream, flowing from one comic to the next, all of them bound together by Berg’s figurally abstract style and expressive use of color.
